'90 e-350 trans

We just bought a diesel '90 e-350 w/frp box, Engine has 50k everthing else has 120k. The trans hunts between 2 & 3 around 30-35 mph. What are we looking at here?

Sounds like a sensor is not giving good info, you don't have a tach right, so the VSS vehicle speed sensor or FIPL (fuel injector position lever) may be out of specs. Can you get a code.

Check out ponjohn's post "Blinking OD light" below.

Re: '90 e-350 trans

turns out that a flywheel behind the flywheel was cracked and all the bolts that hold all this together were loose. Why two flywheels? Seems to me one that would be thicker would be less maufactureing and ease of production would be the bright idea. I am just a woodbutcher so don't listen to me.

Did you log in to PHOTO in the "major sections menu" up the top of this page. The upload photo is right next to log out on the photo page.
