aerostar steering gear question
Searched around the web and haven't found any good forums for Aerostar vans.......soooooooo......
Thought I would try the luck here with my diesel friends.
I replaced the rack and pinion on my fathers Aerostar.
Works good now........way to good!!!
Absolutely ZERO feedback from the steering.
I thought it would be nice and that my father would get used to it in a week or so. Hasn't happened.
My question is.......does anyone know of a way to "tighten up" the gear box a little? This thing is way to easy to turn the wheel while going down the interstate. It is giving both of us a headache to drive down the road this way. Just need a little more friction if I can get it. Causing a lot of weaving the way it is (just toooooooo easy to steer).
Thanks for any help on this.
Now to go post a more diesel related question on my van
