Backup Camera

Has anyone installed a backup camera in their van, and if so...which one?. I've seen some advertised that actually come in a unit that replaces the third brake light assembly, but haven't seen one for the van. There are some that fit in the hitch receiver, others that are part of the license plate holder, some that flush mount anywhere, and bracketed units for the roof.

Any thoughts on this?

Also, I added some new pix.......see sig.

Thanks

Re: Backup Camera

Check www.jcwhitney.com. I bought a backup camera and rearview mirror combination. It replaces your standard mirror and and puts in a 2.5" color screen that you cannot see unless you have it in reverse. I wish I had the part number but do a search on their webpage.
Good luck,
Doug

Re: Backup Camera

Thanks. I've already found one that is going in later this week. It's black & white with infra red LED's for night vision. I'm going to cut a hole in the plastic license plate tray and the license plate itself, and install it right there. I already have a display on the Alpine navigation system and DVD player. The Alpine unit has a reverse triger which will display the rear image whenever the truck is in reverse.

Re: Backup Camera

Very nice. If you have the time to take a few pictures I would really like to see how the install went. Sounds like it is going to real pro. Thanks, Doug
