I remember when I ordered my van many yrs ago, I couldnt get the center console with a 7.3 . I have seen them on trucks and looked like they might fit. Has anyone ever installed one? It is the extra piece that goes on the dog house.

Do you mean the cup holder,map holder that hooks on top of the dog house cover?

I don't know if it was the whole dog house or an extra piece that attached to the dog house. At the time I ordered, the salesman told me it wouldn't fit with the diesel. It has map holder and cup holder on the dog house. I have seen them on other vans although not diesel.

Does your engine cover have two knobs sticking out of it so that the cup holder could be attached? A pic would help.

Everything on my doghouse is smooth all around. No knobs sticking out. Only storage area is on top of dog house with some of it under ash tray. So basically indentations on top of house. What I was talking about is an add on or original that had a map holder and cup holder that was on the main side of dog house facing rear of van. I dont' have any pics of it. Do any of you have pics? Maybe you guys have what I am looking for. I would love to buy one, but was told it didn't fit. If it does,I would get one.

You have to go to a Junkyard and take one off a Window Van. It just bolts to the doghouse. On my last junkyard quest I almost bought one but decided against it due to center access reasons.Plus on my last Van all it did was provide more places for me to lose stuff in.
