'96 E350. Started loosing power. It's cold. Single digits to teens. Had it on the block heater, and it did start no problem. Drove 20 miles down the road, then it started getting sluggish.
At idle, it calmed down. Drove another mile slowly, and it started up again.
Swung into a hardware store, and bought some addiitive to possibly see if it was gelling and maybe get rid of it. Still, I'm wondering about the fuel filter, I can't for the life of me remember when I replaced it so...
Go down the road, and the fuel filter light even comes on.
Replace the filter. Ran for a while. Put it on charge protect to keep the rev's up a bit and create a bit of heat. I can start to hear it loose power again. Fuel filter light again. I have two more filters. I'm gonna go try to put another in and let it idle for a long time to see if I can get the fuel to warm up through the system.
If anyone has ideas, I'd take them at any time.
Thanks! And if I make it home before then, I'll post.

Fuel filter bowl seems to be empty. I imagine that's what causes the fuel filter light to come on at some point...lack of pressure, something.
New filter. Added fuel to the bowl. Runs, engine gets warm even...I've got a blanket over the radiator.
I'm at home getting an electric blanket and a heat gun. I'll see if I can get the fuel lines next. Seems to be gelled before the engine...whole tank? Lines?
Leaving for the next round.

Nothing would make it run on its own. I could fill the bowl and run. The bowl was even warm to the touch. Refilled the bowl before it was completely out and the fuel was comfortably warm.
Heat gun on the lines on the frame rail didn't work either. Filled the bowl, and limped it to a Ford shop. We'll see how they do, but they won't be dealing with it until Wednesday. Probably just needs to be inside. At 10.5 feet high, I don't have a garage big enough.
