Dansk and the Twin HPOP

Dansk, now with a little more time on the twin pump and programming what do you think?

Re: Dansk and the Twin HPOP

For the time being, haven't had time to work with her. I'm not running any program yet. I have put over 3000 miles on her now. No long trips, just local driving. I still have a stalling issue if I let off the pedal quickly. I've learned to drive her without stalling. I have concluded that air is the culprit. When starting in the morning, she lights up right away, but after 10 seconds begins a flutter for about 5 seconds and then clears up. When I get time, I will put my pressure gauge on the right bank and then the left to determine which side is sucking air. Hopefully I can isolate it that way. I know I have a very small oil leak but can't determine where it is coming from. It is however under the hpop's towards the front. No leaks around any fittings that I can see. The problem is that when I take her apart, there will be oil all over and impossible to see exactly where she's leaking. But I have patience and will find it sooner or later. Right now I'm checking my fuel consumption to see if the hpop's have made difference in gas milage. It seems that I'm using more fuel than before, but then again I need a long trip on highway to determine. I used to get 600 to 700 miles per tank and sometime more. I haven't gone away and check in a few times a week. I have 99 split shots I want to put in down the road, but will have to wait till I correct current problem. Then on to a program.

Re: Dansk and the Twin HPOP

This is just my opinion but I would skip the splits if you can get them reworked into singles. Besides the power gains, I have picked up almost two mpg. You are going to need some programming for the pumps anyway, you might as well get it changed to singles. I know from experience Jody at DP can do this on a Van. Thanks for the reply on the pump let me know what you find down the road.

Re: Dansk and the Twin HPOP

I'll keep everyone posted. But as of now, there is definate power improvement, especially for passing on freeway.
