Haynes tells to remove the instrument cluster. I do not how hard that is.

yeah, you can't get from them from just reaching up and behind. You gotta take the dash apart and pull out the instrument cluster. The fixtures for the bulbs just twices like.. 1/4 turn then they pop out.
As memory serves (not so well these days), I took out the radio, the knob on the light switch, the two screws, and the knee panel. You can unscrew it and snap it out from there as I remember.
Get a good light and a mirror to look up behind and see what kind of fasteners you have.
I had to take mine out to install my pyro and TT gauge in the dash and to splice in the lights for those gauges.
I'm thinking someone on this forum (sixiron?)told me how to do it.
