E350 7.3L 5 speed

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-E-Se...sspagenameZWDVW

This one is a pretty unusual. The photos actually show a clutch pedal. The seller obviously has no idea what this van is about what with the claim that it is a 6.0L. It's clearly a 7.3L IDI.

No doubt the manual transmission E series will be right on the heels of the 6.4L diesel.

Re: E350 7.3L 5 speed

I'm not seeing a clutch pedal. I see the accelerator, brake pedal and parking brake and "something" high and shiny that "could" be a clutch pedal.

That van is a roaring piece of crap that IMO isn't worth the current bid of $1,400 much less their asking price of $5,000. The text in the ad is obvious BS! To me it looks like an expedite van that was later used by a contractor. If it was "executive" driven the executive must have been 17 years old.

Re: E350 7.3L 5 speed

The pictures clearly show a floor stick shift. The column shift is missing. They go out of their way to point out that there are no warning lights illuminated. Somebody pulled the bulb.

Typical e-bay sales.
I have something. Don't know what it is, but I want this much.
And its worth its weight in gold.

What a mess. Seller claims it's a 1993, but that's before the Power Stroke too.

Re: E350 7.3L 5 speed

Yea I saw the floor shifter. Who's to say that shifter isn't connected to an automatic transmission? Ford vans are prone to the auto shifter linkage coming loose, which could explain an aftermarket floor shifter.

I don't have any reason to doubt it has a manual, but from the rest of the utter BS in the ad I'm not going to trust the fact that the ad states that it does.

That van had bunches of bits and pieces missing. The headlight knob, the front of the ashtray, the map holder on the doghouse, the rear E350 emblem. Those were the ones that jumped out at me. The "Powerstroke" emblem you can get on eBay for $15 any day of the week. And yes, it is obviously an IDI engine in the bay.

I particularly liked this line "absolutely stunning example of WHAT IT MEANS TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN A VEHICLE". The thing is rusty, is missing parts and has had speakers hacked in.

Re: E350 7.3L 5 speed

lol, it's a 93 6.0L powerstroke. Notice the sticker on the back door to boot.. i do see the clutch petal, notcied the smaller brake petal. Normally they're alot wider, hence the skinnier one to make room for the clutch. Interesting. I don't know how someone could get so mixed up though.

Well It does qualify for the FARFAX Buyback guarantee! I just checked it out. Miles are right, sort of. Went through auction twice in ten days in Florida back in April 2006. Only 34 miles difference in the odo between then and now ( car fax and ebay odo pic). 34 miles in a year, must be an excellent runner! Can you say Biocide!

Hey Bork, Its not far from you,you should go check it out! inquiring minds want to know. Get better pics of the five speed.

Re: E350 7.3L 5 speed

I read through all the eBay feedback for this guy.

Most read "nice, honest". Lots mention the cars needing work or not being as represented.

The guy's buying unknown cars at auction and reselling them, like many used car dealers do. But this guy is throwing way too much puffery into it.

Re: E350 7.3L 5 speed

I emailed the guy and explained about the engine. Someone's going to be real unhappy if they buy a 6.0L PSD and end up with a NA IDI.

Re: E350 7.3L 5 speed

It is likely that the replacement engine and 5 spd transmission went in together. The milage on those is unknown.
