Exhaust manifold up-pipes & adapter replacement?

I have and exhaust leak at my exhaust adapter. That's the "Y" that goes into the turbo from the manifold. I tried to replace the gaskets and I broke 2 bolts. Dealer wants $250. Does anyone know of an aftermarket exhaust manifold up-pipes and the adapter that leads into the turbo for a 99 E350 PSD?

Thanx

I'm not aware of any, but you might call and talk to a couple of the TDS sponsors. Another option is to look in the TDS "for sale" section and even put a "want ad" for one in there since there are van turbos for sale there and someone might have an old OEM type Van Y-connector that they could give/sell you. You might even PM BlizzardVan since he has replaced his stock turbo with the WOP QSSB turbo and might be willing to help you out if he kept this stock stuff.

Not for you, but maybe for others that might get into this. When I did my pre turbo thermocouple install back in 2001, my Van was almost new and I took out the driver's side up pipe and twisted off one bolt at the manifold and had a heck of a time getting one bolt out of that Y-connector for that up pipe. After some research here it appeared that some of the bolts going into the Y on even the F-series were apparantly cross threaded and was more of a problem than I thought. Also, in getting replacement bolts at the Dealer I talked to a Tech there and he said that the best thing to use to remove these type bolts were an impact wrench. This was because they are class 8 bolts and while they will take the instantaneous torque from an impact wrench you can break them when simply apply a more constant heavy torque to them like when you use a socket and/or breaker bar. That might be an old wive's tail, but maybe a real Tech like FMT can provide a little more information based on actual hands on experience.

Good Luck,
