Frantz bypass filters??

went to get an oil change and the shop said they never seen this FRANTZ oil filter and don't know where ot get one so they couldn't change the oil

i will try to get some pics and post tonight

it was mounted in front of the fuel filter with a bracket bolted to the front of the hood opening

went to their website (others below as well)

Gulf Coast Oil Filters™ - www.bypassfilters.com

Frantz™ Oil Filter – www.wefilterit.com

Trasko-USA™ - http://www.trasko-usa.com/

Oil Guard Filters™ – www.oilguardfilters.com

Amsoil™ – www.amsoil.com

apparently the Frantz uses toilet paper for a filter

anybody use these bypass filters?

Re: Frantz bypass filters??

What prevented them from doing the oil change? You don't *have* to change the bypass filter -- unless you instructed them to do so...

On the other hand, you may have answered your own question. If your filter, in fact, uses a toilet paper roll then they should have no problem finding a "filter"... so to speak. Have them just open it up and look...

Re: Frantz bypass filters??

I think it was an excuse for them to get my van out of their shop so that they could work on the roomier and cleaner engine compartments in the new trucks doing high profit mods

I ended up going to the quick lube (of course they had never seen or heard of one of these either) and I did the Frantz filter change myself
