front end

Hi, I have an 84 E350 with 305 75 r16's.Just replaced the tires and the front end although having been gone through is sloppy. There is some sort of a bump in the steering. Without putting an 08 superduty front end on it what can be done to improve handling and performance? I had taller front springs and rancho shocks installed.
Thanks

Not sure on the '84's but on older Ford trucks you could adjust the steering box for wear. Did this on my '77 only to find I needed new tie rod ends etc. Once that was all done the steering was tight. I also put in a steering stabilizer as I was running 31's all around.

BTW raising the ride height without moving the steering can increase bump steer as will lowering. Ideally you want the steering links as parallel with the road as possible. I know for a fact this applies to cars and should apply to truck as well.
