fuel filter

I'm fairly new to E-Series. Are the fuel filters located in the same place as the are on the F-Series and if so, how in the world do you get to them to change them Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Re: fuel filter

Start here...its located at the begining of the E-forum...add it to your favorites list...scroll to the "f" section (appropriate letter ofter used in other context to describe the location of said fuel filter)
http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubbt...65&fpart=1

same location as truck
you have to remove the dog box
remove the air filter housing
remove the air intake hose...from the rear..
pause...remember others have done this...drink beer
go back, check computer, make sure the guys didn't lie to you
1-2 hrs later after you have completed the job you will lie awake at night and think of how to do it easier...

Or you could:
get rid of the silencer (box on top RH side of intake hose) plug it with a spray can cap...

do the CCV mod to get rid of the stupid hose that runs thru the bracket on the valve cover..plug that hole in the intake hose...

This greatly speeds up the whole process, and your wife won't be yelling at you to "hold it down" ...the neighbors won't be calling the cops...the dogs won't cringe and hide...
ask me how I know

good luck bd

Re: fuel filter

Heh-heh...

Or, like I plan to do (hopefully)...

Have it changed one more time, install an AirDog along the frame, and never change it again!

What "other" difference do those mods make, if any?
