Fuel filter....'97 E-Superduty

My 7.3 Turbo PSD seems to be loosing power & running a bit rough. I've owned it for 1.5 years & have done nothing but oil changes & grease (and a new steering gear).
I'm about to swap out my fuel filter & would like to know what I need (strap wrench, ??) to do it & how I get to it. My '97 is a former shuttle bus w/Goshen body (it's my woodbutcher truck now)...and to get through the doghouse involves removing the side door linkage & struts, the doghouse that's full of switches & wires, and most likely the airbox & whatever from under the hood. My old '94 (similar rig to my '97, but no turbo) was bad enough, this seems to be a major headache in the works for me. Jeez, I don't even know what filter(s?) I need for it.
Any tips you can pass along???
Thanks much........Jamo
