Fuel leak top of motor

1997 E350 330K definite fuel leak top of motor two drips per min comming down over top of bellhousing. I undressed the top of the motor including the turbo. Now that it's been sitting I can't pinpoint the leak. The whole lifter vally is damp with fuel but no ovious leak. I thought it was the fuel drain but no dripping like the other ones I have fixed just damp. I studyed the top of the motor for hours and I do see fuel in the wire harness coming from the sensor on the side of the fuel regulator. I pulled the plug on the regulator it's full of fuel. what is this sensor?? could ALL this fuel be comming from this sensor???

In addition to the fuel drain and this sensor what else could be leaking fuel in the lifter valley??? Thanks for your input. Howards

Did you ever find your fuel leak? I have an E350 with the same problem except that fuel is dripping a lot more! I too have removed the turbo (lots of fun on a van, isn't it) because otherwise, I just can't see into the valley and cleaned up what I could but although I can see plenty of fuel, I just can't tell from where it's leaking.

Not to state the obvious, but lots of times its just the top of the filter housing, or the o-ring inside.

Thanks Dr Diesel but the filter housing is dry from what I can tell. I've been reading some other posts and find that my problem just might be the fuel pump. It's really difficult to tell on a van - the way the engine is buried under the dash - not much fun at all. I wish I could start it, then I could probably see the leak but the turbo is out now so I don't want to do that. With the turbo in place, it's impossible to see anything in that valley.

fuel leak top motor

Yes I previously posted all the story on my problem but it must of been deleated. After taking the whole top of the motor apart like you I found the leak it was the fuel pressure sensor. It's on the drivers side of the fuel filter. The fuel runs down the wire harness and lands in the valley realy sneaky. Take it out and put in a 1/8 " pipe plug don't over tighten it.

I also did the torbo O rings and found that the push rod on the turbo valve was snapped off.
