Fuel smell in AC???

Lately, when I run my AC on Normal, I smell diesel fuel. When it's on Max, I don't smell it. (recirc) The odor is pretty strong. I have no visible fuel leaks, and the engine is stock except for a K&N. Has anyone run into this????

Well, obviously, the is a leak of some kind. The normal pulls air from the outside, so where ever that intake is- there must be a leak near by. How close have you looked? Inside cover taken off? Engine running or off?

Check in the well of the motor. there is a drain that takes pluid out of the well and to the back of the bell housing. Look for wet marks. Check the plugs on the back of the heads small and large and the fittings at the back of the passenger head and front of the drivers head facing towards the center of the motor. Good luck

The thing about a fuel leak is that you would most likely see drips under your van that looked like oil. With as clean as your van is I think this would be obvious. However, I agree with checking your valley - everything ends up there.

I took it to the dealer, and they replaced a few things. It was a fuel regulator leaking on top of the motor, near the fuel filter. That's what they said atleast..... It stropped leaking, and I'm glad I took it in, they wound up replacing the intercooler tubes, cleaned out my EGR & turbo, and checked out e-thing else. The van runs MUCH better now.
