Fuel Tank Fill Up Question

Just wanted to let you guys and gals know that the creeking, groaning and squeeking has disappeared in the front end with the help of MADVAN and the grease gun.Seems that when ford put the front end together they forgot to use grease or not much of it and with the recent snow storm and cold weather the water got in and froze in the joints so even though the grease was added it wasnt until the recent warmer climate that the rest of the water or iced water finally dried up and the grease was able to cover whatever areas were affected...THANKS MADVAN FOR THE HELP!

I noticed that when i fill up with Diesel fuel and the pump nossle clicks off,if i try to continue to fill the tank full speed ahead the nozzle just keeps clicking off.I find that when i let it trickle into the tank i get another 7 gallons into the tank which tacks a good 10 to 20 minutes more.Anyone else ever had this problem? What did you do to remedy the problem?

Re: Fuel Tank Fill Up Question

7UP

The reason this happens is due to the filler neck in the tank is lower than the actual height of the tank and it takes the weight of the fuel to get it to fill above the neck, Also you will notice it will foam the fuel at this time. Last there is a screen on the end of the filler neck in the tank.

Tony pics yet?

Re: Fuel Tank Fill Up Question

When I get close to the top I set the nozzle on slow. When it clicks I can cram in another couple of gallons in about 2 minuted time. I got 35.5 gallons into my 35 gallon tank and I drove it to the pump.
