Gauge Pillar Pod Installation

For those of you who have installed gauges on the pillar, what did you use to attached the pod to the pillar. Mine came with screws, but I would think that would look bad. Anyone use foam tape or velcro? Any help is appreciated.

I just made a post, you can see the screws I used. What brand is yours? Mine were autometer and came with those junk push pins.

Re: Gauge Pillar Pod Installation

Jim,

What kind of pod? I used the two pod ones and completely removed my A-pillar. HERE is a somewhat poor pic and description of what I did. A similar mounting might work as an overlay on an existing pillar, I'm just not sure.

Re: Gauge Pillar Pod Installation

Yes - I have the autometer one with the junk push pins. Is that what everyone uses? Looking at those pins made me think about foam tape.

Re: Gauge Pillar Pod Installation

I got them on (Tech and Trans Temp). I used 3M automotive tape. I bet it holds too.

Re: Gauge Pillar Pod Installation

If you all decide to buy anything from GOS Racing you must know this. While Jerry was vacationing last month his protege Steve took care of business for him.My experience with GOS was nothing less than exceptional in the way everything was handled and I must say I only bought an "A" pillar pod and they don't cost much....
Top notch experience with this sponsor, just my .02 cents...

Thank you,
Rick

Re: Gauge Pillar Pod Installation

I drilled through the stock "A" pillar and used the push pins to secure the new "A" pillar skin to the original pillar.
I guess you might use super glue or some sort of adhesive(auto parts store) as long as you could keep them together long enough for the adhesive to dry.Although with this method you had better not need to take apart the pod..........

Good luck,
Rick
