Gauges and chip questions on club wagon

I am getting ready to purchase a 3 gauge pillar pod for my E-350 club wagon which will include turbo boost and tranny temp and pyro meter. I was wondering if their is a good website with pics that shows how to hookup turbo boost and pyrometer on the van specifically? The one I am really not sure how it hooks up on the van is boost gauge. Also how high of a gauge should I purchase? 30psi or 60 psi? I will then be purchasing a chip. I am considering the flip chip I have heard of since it sounds like plug and play and easy hook up. I was wanting some opinions on the different chips. I would like one that I could keep for another PSD if ever needed. I will do only about 20% towing and 80% empty but may take some long trips out west with 30' TT. Also I pack around 60-80 gallons of fuel at times along with tools etc, wife and 3 teenage boys and lots of camping gear. So I also want one that will greatly improve my towing power and mileage when towing and empty. Thanks for all the help and opinions.

Re: Gauges and chip questions on club wagon

Tim,

You can look down about 5 threads or so and read my post on the pyro install in the thread titled "Pyrometer: Instalation, &amp; Temp Readings ". For the boost 30psi is fine and the install is a snap. You simply T into the map sensor with the fittings provided. If you look at the picture <font color="red"> HERE</font> the map sensor is they thing on the far left that is attached to the cowling. It has the silver label on top and the boost fitting tie in is that brass right angle fitting with the small black tubing coming out of it. That tubing then runs to the boost gauge.

As far as chips and mpg. Can't help much, but unless you get a custom tuned chip I kind of doubt you're going to see much of a mpg improvement.

Larry

Re: Gauges and chip questions on club wagon

twoshoes,

The gauge installation is basically the same for your van as it is for the trucks. We now have full cover 2 and 3 gauge pods to fit 92 to 02 Ford vans. These look a lot nicer then the short pods from Autometer.

Mileage improvements are a 'crap shoot' when you install a chip. They can help, but there are too many variables in driving style after the chip is in to give conclusive results.

We have been very happy with the performance from Western Diesels Quad power, the kicker for you will be matching your vans PCM code.

Give us a call if we can answer any questions for you. JS.
