Has any van owner completed the Hutch Fueltank Fix to fix the air in the Fuelline Problems?
Has any van owner completed the Hutch Fueltank Fix to fix the air in the Fuelline Problems?
Here is a rundown of what IM talking about:
There is a thread in the engine section about replacing the clamps on the fuel lines that feed the fuel system to and from the tank. there seems to be a crimp on clamp that is letting air into the system that is causing a problem. After Hutch did his fix his truck runs much better. It's an interesting discovery and is good reading.
IM about to have the TransferFlow 27 gal Aft Aux tank installed, for those who don't know this it fits between the spare tire and the rear axle on the extended vans without losing the spare tire.
Since the installer has to drop the main 35 gallon tank IM going to have him replace the crimp hose clamps on the stock tank. I will have him take detailed pics of it for those interested.

You mean the fuel tank mod? Yes, don't know about the "crimping" problem, and didn't even realize the main tank had to be dropped. Maybe I got the "fix" without knowing it...
The rear tank job is expensive but it's about the only option (besides the 46 gal for 4x4s). My TRAX display is to the right of the steering column, right behind the key. It's hard to see behind the steering wheel while driving straight but it's out of the way. My guy only used the sticker to attach it, and it works fine.
(Lucky you get to keep your 35 gallon tank... I forgot to mention my 27 gallon tank from Quigley, now my TRAX needs to be reprogrammed for the smaller size.)

van_350sd,
Not yet, my tank to fuel pump lines doesn't leak like Hutch's did and the factory in tank system appears to get rid of excess air nicely, but I'm still investigating.

<hr></blockquote>
No because on my van the factory fuel filter and it's return to the tank along with the in tank system as designed and installed in my vehicle actually removes visible air from my fuel quite effectively and my lines outside the tank are tight and do not leak even when subjected to a higher vacuum than what the factory system puts them under. The only connection that I will remove since there is no way to reliably check it is the QD on the actual pump itself and I will install a fuel sight glass so I can periodically check for air. I'm still investigating this and my position may change, but for now that's my story and I'm sticking with it
