Heads pulled and blown head gasket pictures.

Well i guess i could have just put this in the other thread, but i figured this was somewhat of a different subject and it may get more people to take a look at it if they weren't following the other thread or something. Anyways... I got the heads off and found the problem, i think. In the pictures you can pretty well see what i'm talking about. The only thing i am worried about is the water in the oil pan. I need to determine if it did anything to any other engine parts. But this is what i'm working with here. Any advice would be appreciated.

Good pics. I'm not an engine man so I can't offer you any practical help. Keep us posted to your progress. Good luck !

Re: Heads pulled and blown head gasket pictures.

Yaric,
Well, I'd say you KNOW where the h2o got in from. If it were mine I'd be tempted to pull a couple of main and rod bearing caps, plastigage them to be sure the tolerances are OK, and if not, go for new bearings. Hate to see you have to tear her down again later, especially since you are into it so deep anyways.
Best of luck.
Mark

Re: Heads pulled and blown head gasket pictures.

Actually, yesterday i got out the piston, and was feeling the cylinder wall and there is some sort of irregularity in the cylinder wall. It may still be cavitation yet. I believe that cylinder number is 4, i hear number 4 cavitates alot, so... i might not be out of the woods yet.
