Help me fix my wipers before it rains!

Ford's scheme for the windshield wipers on my '94 E-350 is positively Teutonic! My wipers quit, and I figured it was the fuse, or the motor, but no, the damn curtain-rod won't stay on the motor shaft. The shaft has a groove cut into it, and it looks like a "C-clip" (or even an "A-clip) would hold it, but I'm told the part is unavailable individually, and that you have to buy an "assembly". Tell me it ain't so?

But whatever you tell me, please make it before it rains?

Pretty please?

Re: Help me fix my wipers before it rains!

My wippers on van have been gone for years. I use Rain X. Even on my e350 gasser with good working wipers I use rain x and hardly ever turn on wipers.I beleive Rain x is much better than wipers.Just follow instructions when appling. And hint, a super clean windshield cleaned with windex or simarlar seems to improve rain x performance. Draw back is you gotta reapply every 2 weeks -month. depending on how much you wash or run wipers.Sorry I have no mechanical advise to offer, but maybe tip will help you get-by till you do.(we get a frequent cloud burst in S. Fl.)
