HOW BAD AM I GETTING BENT OVER?

Hi all. I am looking to purchase an 07 E-350SD (loaded up) for 26,500. I am trying to work with a local dealer. He will be sending the van to Quigley for the 4x4 conversion. I am not sure what he will tell me for the conversion yet.

Questions........
Is the price of the 07 E-350 reg cargo a good price that he told me?

What should I expect for the 4x4 conversion?

Re: HOW BAD AM I GETTING BENT OVER?

Price would depend on what motor......

Re: HOW BAD AM I GETTING BENT OVER?

5.4l V8 Gas.....Out the door for 38K with tax plates, but I need to go pick it up at quigley. This is a regular van not the extended version.

Another question. I have the triton V8 motor in my 99 350SD. It can be a little dogish on long hills. What is the motor of choice? I don't tow, however I carry alot of wieght in tools,Quickfind bins shelves pipe etc.

Thanks Again Sorry for the slow response.

Re: HOW BAD AM I GETTING BENT OVER?

well... even though the 6.0L diesel does not have a great reputation i really like the one in my van...who knows maybe i just got a good one or the people complaining about them got the few bad ones?

all i know is from my own experience with the 6.0L in my E350 van.

i carry a lot of weight and some mtn driving with trailer as well..... this thing has way more guts than my old gasser van could even dream of.....it hauls my enclosed trailer up the mtn like its not even back there :-)

i have almost 60,000 miles on my 04 (first year of the 6.0L in the van) with only a couple of minor issues (one EGR valve)( one a/c compressor before the updated cooling fan came out)
the motor has run like a top.... doesnt use any oil.... doesnt make any oil from fuel and doesnt leak any oil.

my last blackstone analysis was perfect

mileage has been 50% better than my gas van ever did.... 16-17 in town and 20+ highway..... not to mention that i can also run bio diesel :-)

i change the oil every 5000 miles
i change the fuel filters ever 15,000
and am on my third air filter (i replace when the filter minder starts dropping)

i think the vans have a better chance because they are detuned from the truck programming....(i believe the van is running the tune international designed for it)

only thing i am scared of is out of warranty repairs cause there isnt enough room for a mouse to fart up under that hood.

I don't think that price is TOO far off, assuming the thing is new otherwise. As far as motors, the way things are right now, if I wanted a new van I would be reluctant to wait for a 6.0 in a Ford. If I wanted a diesel right now, I might consider the D-max instead. Otherwise, I would be comparing the Ford gassers... One interesting advantage to the V8 is that DP-Tuner makes a chip for it -- don't remember seeing one for the V10, and I would ask why. That might tip the scales in favor of the V8. It's a hard choice right now...
