How long can you go without the sway bar?

As part of my 4x4 conversion I need to attach a front bracket that holds the springs. I measured it up today and it looks like the bracket overlaps where the sway bar is bolted on. So, how long can I drive without the sway bar.

Here's the reason I ask. I also need to replace the water pump (sooner than later). I've been thinking of approaching it the Sixiron way and removing the radiator. It turns out that it would also be a whole lot easier to install the bracket without the radiator. For this reason I would like to do both at the same time. What does everybody think?

Re: How long can you go without the sway bar?

One of mine from my current 4wd vans is in the garage. Of my past 4 2wd vans, only one came from the factory with a sway bar. It will ride smoother but it will lean a little bit more in the corners. It might scare you at first. Don't be afraid.

Re: How long can you go without the sway bar?

Sway bar is an addition not needed.
Its only reason is to help control body roll.(on road)
This is a reason why vannies install a rear sway also.

Off road is reversed. You dont want sway bars.
Best is to have the sway setup with quick disconnects.
This way you get best of both worlds. On/off road.

Right sway bar just cuts down on body roll. Kind of like having a hot wife, not necessary but makes life nicer.

The work from Chris is that it won't work. He says to just cut them off.
