Roaddog,
After seeing your pics yesterday and seeing the idle controller i decided to call the dealer to see if i could upgrade this morning after reading your e-mail.Ive been thinking also about the Ford "Autovision" or going aftermarket for the audio video thing. The dealer had to call me back because he had to find out if it could be done, also to see how far along the order had come.Well its far along that if i add these features from the factory i'll wind up waiting a little later and was also told that i could do the idle controller later on along with the audio video thing so the build date is for 12/6/03 and delivery is for 12/23/03,also he gave me the vin# already does that mean its already being built he also said it could possibly be delivered a head of that date depending on some factors and alot of luck which he has seen happen.Ill Keep everyone up to date.
TONY

Great news dude, yeah, You can add the AIC later. In fact, I think the wiring harness for the AIC is built in anyway, regardless of whether the order calls for the module or not. I believe the build date is the date they get it into production. The date it actually "exits" the line, I'm not sure, maybe someone in this forum knows the sequence. Is it schedule to ship direct to Quigley from Lorain ?

Man, having the dealer that close to Quigley is as good as it gets Let us know as you get updates on the progress and keep the aftermarket questions coming.

Glad to hear you got your build date. I still dont have one and I originally ordered Sept 1! Cancelled the order after not having a build date after 8 weeks. Something smells bad here. I cant believe it should take 12 weeks from order to build! I reordered Nov 1 with Cochise thinking I would get mine pulled sooner than with the first dealer I used who could give me no information on what was going on. Cochise has told me that my problem is due to a major fleet purchase in the Houston region that used up all the allocation for the region. I still dont have a build date. But you are obviously in a different region. Anybody else had to wait this long? I've always ordered vehicles and have never had to wait for DELIVERY more than 8 weeks. Some of you guys that have ordered in the past 12 months- how long did you have to wait?
Thanks
Jeff

I live in Kentucky and ordered my van from a dealer across the river in Indiana. My order date was Sept 16. I was supposed to have a delivery date of 2 weeks ago but it was delayed. That turned out to be a good thing for me because we had tornados with lots of hail that weekend. The 18 vans that were delivered that weekend had severe hail damage. My van came in Nov 25 and I picked it up yesterday.
