intercooler install on way

Well after a lot of research and posts on here I decided it was time to do it! on a budget, I don’t think anyone has installed one or finished a install on this forum or any forum that I could find, I was going to go with a air/to air intercooler but didn’t think I had enough room so I decided to go with a water / air intercooler having a lot more mounting options , I realized that the air to air would have been a lot less work by far and I definitely had the room. But I’m moving on with the water/air intercooler so far so good. It would be nice if I could make a kit for my fellow vanner’s on here.
Any (positive) thought on this would be great.

Cool! Any details? An a/a would be a pain without some major cutting, from what I could tell, when I was looking into it.

going good

well its going good been working on it in spare time for 2 weeks ihave something else i can drive ,im not sure how many pics i can post one here but its coming together
well , one problem i dont have a welder so i got to depend on others for making me brackets (and you no that blows) but i should only need 4 brackets made no biggie i went with silicone pipes because there insulated there a little bigger than your std 3 in pipe . 3 inch pipe is the size to use for everything .
once you remove air cleaner assmblemy and the reorganize ford wiring harness , it seems like like wiring neetness was no concern atleast on mine they put it in the plastic housing all twisted up notted up etc so you have to disconect all the leads and untangle then reconnect then you the slack you need to get it out of way this is good .

heres is some shots one with aluminum pipe from a older f- just for the *** of it .

air intake

thanks guys project going well
here is a shot of a possible idea of bringing the cold air from underneath the truck from the rear , any thought's iv rapped the exaust and was thinking about trying it out but i need a temp sensor gauge mounted to test it out (its just aa idea if to hot no way ). i hate to waste all that room in the rear of motor and yes the cover closes perfectly.

Arne with the red van had something similar, but he only used it for racing.

My air filter is going under the van in a 3 sided box open to rear. And then possibly one of those outer covers. I won't be able to cross any creeks, but don't plan on doing that anyways.

If you haven't seen this site.....frozenboost.com

What are your plans for heat exchanger and reservoir? I will be putting one of these in the front bumper. Air to Water Heat Exchanger

And this reservoir under the pass seat. Water to Air Ice Box Reservoir

w/a ex

RPM is that your van pic?
wow after thinking about it im going up top and out the front drivers for now, because i do once in a while go through deep water or snow etc just because i can lol
yes iv been dealing with siliconintakes same company as frozen boost
there great they said i can return anything as long as its still new , but so far iv used everything ,check out cxracing.com they have lots of uni pipe kits etc also

radiator up front below sorda behind bumper , exchanger / intercooler up top underhood made alot of room still making room trying to move the fuse box either down or up large space below it , some type of vacuum sensor on bottom hidden thouh , also did you notice a sensor in front grill must be for airbag im thinking ,mystery device .

No, that's not my van.

One thing to think about. I don't know how stiff those silicone elbows are, but it is possible they may collapse from the suction. I have no idea if they actually would, but I guess it's possible.

Not sure of your temporary configuration, but if you have an open element air filter, you will hear every noise the turbo makes. Probably perfectly normal.

Curious how you attached to the compressor outlet. I was going to modify a truck manifold if I decide to cool the second stage.

The sound you don't like is a part of owning a turbo'd vehicle. Screw the honda guys!! :-)

Dang, is there actually room? Maybe you are on to something that a lot of us have been trying to tackle for a long time without thinking outside the box or making it a big project.

what intercooler are you going to be running, or did I just totally miss that part?

I'm hoping to do the same thing to my 03 Quigley next spring/summer.

edit: let me rephrase that..

which air-air would have fit and we're talking in front of everything else, right?
