E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.
I'am contemplating on adding either the Bushwacker Extend a Fender flares or installing stainless steel fender trim on my van.
If I install the bushwackers,I'll lose some of my flame tips on the front fenders and will probably have to paint/flame the flares to tie in the flame tips from the fenders that they will cover up.
However, the S.S. fender trim would work with hardly any coverage if any at all of the flame tips.
Which type of flare/trim do you guys think I should go with and why.
I need consulting on this issue as the van is getting repainted/reflamed on August 10th and I need to get these ordered asap!
I do know that the Bushwacker fender flares would protect better.
Following are pics of the Bushwackers and S.S.trim.

Click on cost/options to the left of the page, then click on more options then scroll down the page to see the Bushwackers on a van.
I can get the Bushwackers for $270.00 and the S.S. fender trim for $89.99 but the price is not the deciding factor, the look and funtionability is.
Thanks for any opinions you have.
I would go with the bushwackers. If you are painting it anyway you might as well install the flares and incorporate the flames onto them as you mentioned. i dont like the stainless flares, in my opinion if you go with the stainless flares you also need to get white wall tires
I have seen some pickups with the bushwackers painted to match and they look great.
but then again this is just my opinion and sure other people have theirs.
I'll be anxious to see them since

If you go with anything, go with the Bushwackers, they'd be more proportional and functional relative to that MondoBeyondo bumper. The stainless would look too wimpy next to the Road Armor. If you had a Chrome bumper the stainless might look OK. By the way, can you keep road salt from "hanging up" underneath the Bushwackers ? By that I mean, can you clean out anything that gets trapped up there between the flare and the wheel well lip ?

Bushwackers get my VOTE I had a set on my 73 Blazer but thay were the cutout type for bigger tires. And with the new paint your going to do I would want to protect the paint by using the Bushwacker fender flares
