E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.

For those moments when some jerk cuts you off and then slams on his brakes and turn signal, making you mad ( ) enough to pound your fist on your dash and holler out loud.
With this option, you holler and bang away just like usual, but your antagonist is made (briefly) aware of his transgressions.
That new front grille must house the blast shield, which is deployed automatically upon receipt of a telemetric signal from the missile at the moment of detonation.
There is no other plausible reason on earth to make that front grille look like it does. It has the classic lines of a 1983 Magnavox Boom Box (with cassette player! ) and all the appeal of a swinging hemorrhoid on a baboon's butt.
For the first time in F*rd's history, they will receive demand for front grille kits to retrofit vehicles to the prior body style's grille!
But seriously, I think that big red button is connected to the speaker system. When you push it, it makes turbodiesel engine noises for 5 seconds. For loyal diesel van fans like you, it's the least they could do ! ! !
I wonder if the hood will fit our older vans. Then just add the new front end. I can use the extra clearence that the new hood gives under the motor. Just a thought.

I was surprised to see red button on dash too. I'm guessing that it's not supposed to be in the photo.
It looks like an Emergency Shutoff Button that the automakers use in the prototype/testing/development phases of any newer vehicles with a "Drive-by-Wire" Electronic Throttle Control system.
Kind of a bland answer compared to the others , but I believe that's what it is...

While it does appear to match the superduties, again I must say: ... Oh, wait... and again, .
There, that's enough.

I think you have the telemetry part right. The big button is for automatic diagnosis and filing of warranty claims and will come in handy if and when they cram the new diesel in it.
