E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.
Do all vans have steel tanks? & if yes, why? I have a plastic F tank that I may be able to alter & make work. Seems to be a 38 gal tank. I will confim both sizes before all the trouble. I was just wondering if the vans had a safty issue & the steel was a mandatory thing.
I'm going to guess the van still has steel because the van hasn't had a serious redesign since 92. That is why it still has the old 6.5" bolt pattern on the wheels and probably why it still has a steel fuel tank.
Someday it will be updated.
