power mirror wire looms different for 02 than 98?

hi guys, I'm searching for power mirrors for my 02 manual van. I found a van in a boneyard with the mirrors and wire looms/switches still there but its a 1998 van. Does anyone know if the wiring from a 98 will work in an 02? My van had nothing power in it. I have put in aftermarket power windows, locks and an alarm/remote start system and want to do the mirrors now.

News to me.

I assumed that all 02 E350's with 7.3 had the same wiring harness.

The wiring harness in my 02 cargo van has lots of connections that are unused.

Remember that the control switch and the main part of the wiring are on the driver's side. There are only 3 wires going to the passenger side. Once you get the switch and the plug into the switch, it wouldn't be hard to make up the rest of the necessary wiring. Make sure you get the plug because a new switch($33) doesn't include it.

The power wiring harness changed when the mirrors became available with the Super duty extedable towing mirror. Sorry, I dont remember what year it was, but it was definately after 2000. I have a set fow newer towing mirrors for my van and the wires are all different colors and the plugs are different.

My van is a '96 XLT and it has the Super Duty extendable towing mirrors, with the power mirror. Interesting...

Really? Did you buy the van new? If not someone must have changed them.

I bought it earlier this year from a guy out of province. I found it on an online classified. The guy who owned it before me posts on here, but he only had it for two years and put about 30k miles on it or something in the time he had it. I'm pretty sure they were there when he got it, but the van did a lot of towing when he had it.

I think I remember the lady at the parts desk at the dealer not being able to find exactly the right mirror when I asked for a price on replacement glass for one of them.

Either way, love it with the tow mirrors on it! I can see anything!
