E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.
I'm installing A/meter C2 pyro and have two mounting choices. Both methods use a collar and a set screw and does not appear to be very sturdy. It would seem that the constant vibration of the engine and road would work the probe loose. Anyone have comments on this application?
I wasn't satisfied with those options either. I purchased a Swagelok 1/4"-NPT to 3/16" compression (Swagelok) adapter. Part number SS-300-1-4BT. List price is $9.40.

I personally don't think it is needed, and besides will it hold up to 1200 degrees heat? I have hit 1350 for a second and it's still solid as a Ford.. I was wondering the same thing when I did my install and figured there isn't too many aftermarket compounds that will take the heat. I have pulled HARD for a while ( miles @ 1150 degrees) a few times and haven't had any problems.

RD, I'm not familiar with how the swagelok installs/works. Or, if I could buy it locally. I'm starting this job tomorrow, along with a US Gear Aux underdrive transmission installation, and replacing busted front air bags. I don't have time to order it, if it is better.
