Rear AC Question

When ordering a new van is there any advantage in ordering the duel air package when the rear ac unit cannot be used as shiped from the factory? Cost is not the issue. The floor in my new van will be droped 6 inches to accomidate my wheelchair. I will have an aftermarket AC installed in the rear of the van, during the conversion. I thought that maybe the compressor was bigger on the duel vrs the single systems? Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Re: Rear AC Question

before I bought my club wagon I was looking at going with a conversion van with the PSD.

There is an option called rear AC ready (or somthing like that). You also need to order the rear AC control option. Ask your dealer or converter what is required for the RV conversion pakage. I would also recommend getting the RV package instead of the cargo van option, it seemed to come with all the options needed to do a conversion at a discounted price.

Re: Rear AC Question

Hotwheels:

I think they use the same compressor, It just has a " T " in the lines for the rear
unit.

Most of the lowered floor vans I have seen
only have the center part lowered, Not the rear where the ac is. I guess some also have the driver seat area lowered. I guess you will also be using a body lift to get the
6 " drop ?? You might want to look into
Re-Plumbing a factory ac, to work with the
lift, Nicer unit, controls in dash, with overhead vents.

Good luck.
