Remote Oil filter for the 6.0L PS

In the process of converting this 2004 E350 to 4x4 it became obvious that the stock engine oil filter was in the way of the front driveshaft. I removed all the oil lines to the filter (which go up under the turbo to the front of the engine) and made a bracket to move the oil filter and then made up some custom lines. This was very time consuming and not really the best way to do this job. And I have one more van to convert to 4x4.

Do any of the remote oil filter kits such as amsoil use a lower profile lower cap on the stock oil filter. If I could use a oil filter canister cap that was like the trucks (like 1" instead of 6 or 7") with some kind of remote filter system I would have enough room for the driveshaft without spending 8 hours on taking apart exhaust and making up custom lines and filter mountings.

Any ideas?

The AMSOIL bypass filter system replaces the stock filter housing with a much smaller aluminum block, you then have about 3' of hose to locate the filters out of the way of the drive-shaft.

Does the amsoil system bypass system remove the stock filter completely? From what you are saying the stock filter canister is much shorter with the system installed, which seems to state the stock filter would no longer fit. I just thought the amsoil system worked with the stock filter, not replaced it.

The Dual Remote replaces the stock filter by relocating it, and a bypass filter element, to a remote location (by definition). A standard bypass filter would be installed in addition to the stock filter, and would be hooked up differently. Would not interfere with the stock filter.
