Unhappy Replacement Air Box

Morning Gent's
I noted yesterday the plastic "Air Box" holding the air filters is looking rather ratty.
It's still functional, but there are broken clip and a chip off one corner of the top.

Has anyone found a reasonable replacement "Air Box"?

If OEM is the best solution, What is the cost of replacement?

And who has the best deals on this replacement "Air Box"?

Thanks for your help

I can't remember, but if the top is just the cover and not what attaches to the rubber intake track I have one from my 2001 which I had to replace a couple of years ago because the heat deformed the plastic that mated to the rubber intake track.

It's yours for postage/shipping and a couple of bucks for gas to the UPS center.

I've got a complete assy but it has holes drilled in the bottom and sides of it to let more air flow directly to the filters...

curious to see what your local stealership wants for a new one

PM me if you want to talk it out

Buster,

Although the image is wrong, (image is of an IDI air box), Powerstrokeshop.com the link to powerstroke shop indicates the whole assy is around 167.00 from them (240.00 list). Give them a call to verify correct part and price, Trademotion online parts catalogs leave something to be desired. The OEM part will be cheaper from them than from your dealer, unless your dealer will give you wholesale pricing. There are no "aftermarket" air boxes for vans. Some here have built their own. You want to fix it pronto. Hole in the cover is after the filter and broken clip/tab prevents proper filter seal. dirt+ turbo= $$$$$$

well, for anything with the 7.3 dit hey are pricey, if you can find them... have 5 e350 between 97 and 01, and they tell me that the intake is no longer manufactured, that there are people who still make them but they are expensive. I do hope that it is not the same with the upper and lower box...

Morning Gent's
I was at my local Dealer yesterday having my Ranger serviced, while waithing I went to the parts dept. and asked about a replacement Air Box for my Van.
The Air Box comes compleat both half as one unit, Price $213.00
I was not in stock but could be had in two days.
I also stoped at a recycling yard to get a price....The Guys there got on there computer, but could not find such an item anywhere in Arizona or New Mexico.
I don't need the Box just now....This is more a "Feel Good" job.
I think I'll save my lunch money and buy it in Oct.
