SRW cargo van 6000lb rear load rating?

My door sticker says GWR is like 6080lbs, is this normal or is it modified? This was a bucket lift truck and the back sits a good 1.5" or more higher than the front without the lift. Just curious as not to long ago I had 3500lbs in it and it sat level and drove fine other than needing more time to stop.

That's standard. The axle is actually rated at 7800 pounds, and on 2009+ vans the bucket truck pre package also includes 7800 pound springs. The 6040 RAWR is due to the tires. They are the limiting factor.

Thanks. I just wondered since the back sits so much higher than the front.

Say on your dually setup would you recommend an axle swap or adapters? I noticed on another thread you mentioned it was much nicer for hauling a trailer. I'd want it for that as well as more stability with a load in the back. I've got a thread on the IDI forum going but thought I'd ask you since you actually have a dually van.

On a 7800 pound full floater, adapters work fine.

Question for you guys? Had Coil Spring Specialties in St.Mary, KS custom build new front coils. Add 500 lbs per side. Old front GAWR was 3800 lbs. Could I assume it is now 4800 lbs.? On the back leaves, Atlas Spring in Wichita, KS did a magnificent job. The old leaves had 3 leaves. They add 2 more leaves, rearched, fitted and installed all new spacers and hangers. Plus they de-arched the whole set 1 1/2", so with new springs only added 1/2" of height. Each spring added 600 lbs. so increased each side an additional 1200 to 1400 lbs. Old GAWR was 6084. Can I assume now 7500 lbs? On tires, we put new Bridgestone LT265/75R16's and at 80 lbs rate at 3415 lbs. The downside here is tires with only 6800 lb rating. The van will only see max weight in it 3 to 4 times per year when work teams show up. Add 15 people at 200 lbs and 60 bags/suitcases at 50 lbs and you have instantly added 6000 lbs to existing vehicle weight. I would really like your thoughts, knowing this van will see the roughest roads and most extreme conditions imaginable. Steve

Yes on the front axle.

On the rear end, go by the tire rating, since that lower than your spring or axle rating.

I think how you will be running the van is reasonable. Just make sure your drivers know how to react if they get a blow-out (point it straight and ease to a stop gradually. Over-correcting to a blow out gets a lot of folks in trouble. )

I run about 7500# on my rear axle (SRW)... I got a pair of 19.5" wheels from Rickson. Huge improvement in ride and sway. Not working the tires too hard either... they're 4800# rated,
