Super Chip as good as it sounds?

Talking to Collins Diesel in Stockton, CA about installing gauges on my van (even tho it is probably 3 mos away!). The guy there recommends the Super Chip Micro Tuner. Sounds great--plug & play with 3 settings--original, +60HP and +80HP. He's asking $419. So what's the catch? I see posts indicating +2-3 mpg. Is the boost in power and torque for real? Will it void the warranty? Is this the best of the chips? Anybody have experience with that shop?

Thanks for any info.

Dave

Re: Super Chip as good as it sounds?

I paid less for mine. Like $346 including shipping.

Easy to install, and I had to laugh after I installed it. It sounded different, and the power was great. Better mileage? Didn't notice any great changes.
