tank delam? or? what mods while out?

poor search skills/results so:

told my knuckleheads to pump old fuel out of tank (450 not driven), & dont reuse it!!!. they put it in my lull forklift! SO MUCH garbage in fuel had big job mopping-out lift tank, filters, fuel pump, etc. fixed now.
dropped 450 tank and still little garbage. is this what refered to as tank delam?(or what is t-delam?) or did i just get super nasty fuel in the only 900 miles i've driven it(ya'll got me scared of it, lol)?
what to do with tank itself while out, to clean or? ? what mod.s while out? what to expect/do re:filters etc. on 450? thanks
rich

Re: tank delam? or? what mods while out?

If you are concerned about tank delam, you could always have the tank boiled out by a tank-cleaning outfit for relatively cheap. While the tank is out you may want to shorten the fill neck tube so the tank will "fill-fuller" before foam shuts the pump off. This is known around here as the "Harpoon mod" (invented by the guy with that name). There are other things that could be done inside, but they're a lot more involved... Others may chime in here.

Re: tank delam? or? what mods while out?

You might consider replacing the tank with a Transfer Flow 46g tank. And while you do the exchange, put a hole in the vent tube (harpoon) to allow it to be filled to near the top.
