Thermostat Gasket was easy on napa H2O pump
had to replace my water pump, the (warranty) pump napa gave me had a different setup for the thermostat housing gasket ...or maybe it's been this way all along..cut me some slack I am getting senile and CRS....
used to be that the o-ring gasket was too big for the housing and had to sit on top...the radiator hose housing was placed over it and you hoped it would seal or you put a bead of rtv around the outside of the o-ring to help it seal...or that's what I did on the prior install...
This last pump had an o-ring that fit on top of the thermostat, the 3 bolt radiator hose housing was then very easy to seal without the water leaks that normally occur...
I just noticed this on the last pump install , some others may have known about it already...
1,000 miles , no drips or leaks...
