E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.
I have revos on now and they handle better in all conditions than the stocker ht's did, they are a little louder though. Don't know how long they will wear yet. My boss just put some newly designed Goodyear wranglers on that are advertized to be quite civilized and have a supple ride. He confirmed it, so they might be worth a look.
I have run more different tires than I can remember on my vans...
I will give you this:
I ran some Kumhos from tire rack and loved them for traction and price, but they seemed to wear fast and 2 have separated after only 9k miles. They are all terrain and were 87 bux each. They worked great on beach sand around here.
While fighting with Kumho over warranty, I replaced them with Goodyear AT/D2s from Sams. These are billed as an all terrain tire, but the tread is much more road than off road, especially compared to the very aggressive Kumho treads. I like them very well on the highway and the price was great. I haven't had an off road test of them yet.
I keep 80 psi all around... always have, right or wrong.
Hope this helps
Dave
Edit: If I was to go to Sams and get these Goodyears again, I would get the same tire in 265. They were actually a couple bux less per tire, but I didn't notice until they were almost done mounting the 245s.
