Torque Converter question

My transmission is the E4OD and seems to be working well and all, but i'm just wondering if one of these new fandangled T/Cs would help performance any? I mean would it be something where i could spend like 200 bucks and have better performance, i'm not really looking to spend gobs of money but maybe just a little...

Really depends on what you are looking to due with the van. Increase hp power, mileage, tork ect. I would install the late model t/c it's much better. I have a 97 t/c if your interested. PM me. How many miles on your trans? You should think about it. I'am sure you can handle the rebuild.

BTW- How is the motor comming along.

Re: Torque Converter question

I'm not really sure how many miles are on the tranny, it was installed about a year ago, and i'm not sure what they replaced and all the details, i wasn't really driving it at the time. My guess is there is probably about 50,000 miles on the present tranny. I can't tell for certain but it seems there is a slippage coming from the torque converter. When you first accelerate say.. off from a light and do about half throttle you get a strange shimmy that you can feel through you seat, it's not severe though. But, when you pull a trailer and gun it, which my dad tends to do, it really feels like it is slipping. I'd be interested in your T/C, i'm not sure what is involved with changing it out, but i guess it can't be that hard.
