Tranny ID codes - Diesel Forum

I know for the vans, an "E" usually stands for the E4OD. But what is the "G" tranny? (Found the weirdest van on Ebay.... 1993 1 ton passenger, 3.73 axle, tranny G and a 4.9L straight six!) And the electric odo says less then 40K miles...

What kind of tranny combinations was available w/ the diesels? I know the C6 was available, but how long w/ the diesels? Into the mid 90's?

The C6 was available on E250 and up through the end of the 1996 model year, with the 5.8L. 7.5L, and the diesel.

Have you ever heard of a 4.9L I6 being installed in a 1 ton van!?

I know they were available in the 1/2 ton, but in a 1 ton!? And a 12 passenger non the less! And a 1993...
