transferflow tank for a 95 e350 7.3

Is there any reason why the replacement transferflow tank will not work in a 95 e350 7.3 ? Their website lists 97-up. When I called them they had no answer for me. Are the fuel systems any different on a 97?
Mike

They stopped making the aft axle 27 Gallon Aux. Tank, on or about 2002.

I bought one for my 2000 E350 van and it was one of the last ones.

They still make tanks for the original fuel tank location for wheelchair vans etc.

The 97 van should be like a 2000 or later van?

Do you want to mount it in the stock tank location? Or do you want to add a second tank for the Aux.?

Man, I'M so happy I bought my van when I did, I got the 7.3L Extended van with the extra fuel tank.

The TF tank I have only works on the extended vans, back then.

You can buy other tanks and even a fuel cell tank in the rear, if you have the extended van.

Just thinking of replacing orig side tank. I know the fuel system change on the trucks in 99. I wouldn't think the vans changed much from 95 to 97. Just trying to figure out the differences between the two.

Fuel pump flange I think has a different bolt pattern I think. THe actual tank I'm pretty sure is the same.

Pretty sure this is correct. The vans either have a bolt in sending unit or a lock in (ring) style. Originally, the T/F tanks were made specifically for the Quigley vans. Quigley moved the front fuel tank support crossmember, and the T/F tank was made for that.

So, you may have to convert to the later style fuel pump and add a front crossmember to support the T-F tank.

You might try visiting a local wrecking yard. They have cross reference books that can tell you what parts from what years exchange. Find out if the pumps or tanks interchange in the 95 and 97 models. If not, you may have to buy the later pump from them anyway - and maybe they will take your pump in trade - never hurts to ask.

I called transfer flow to order their 46 gallon mid-ship tank, and they tell me that it is obsolete.

Some of the 4x4 conversion guys get them (they special order them in lots of 10 or more), but as one more middle man and being the only game in town, they charge accordingly.
