Turbos Gone - What Should I Replace While I'm At It
For the past couple weeks my van has been giving me sporadic SES lights. The light would turn on for a couple minutes and the van would run horribly, and then the light would go out and things would be fine. I was thinking the wiring harness in the valve cover, but I decided to take it to the dealer to get the codes read and... I shouldn't have been surprised because I had to replace the LPOP recently, but the turbo is on the way out and the ICP sensor is misbehaving. While I'm at it I thought that I gut the pedestal and go with a Non-EBV pedestal, replace the up pipes (probably with the bellowed pipes) since I haven't been able to stop the exhaust leak, and remove and clean the fuel bowl since the drain valve doesn't work and I need to replace the fuel line O-rings (according to the dealer) which will hopefully put an end to the small drops of oil I find in my driveway. I have a mild tune, but with today's diesel prices I find most of my driving is in the SLOW lane. I would like to keep my mpg's at a max. Any ideas?

The Turbonetics ball bearing drop-in replacement has been a huge improvement over stock; I noticed a substantial difference after installing it on my wagon. And for the vans, it's almost a drop in replacement. I had to have only one surface of the new turbo machined and it bolted right up. The machining was easy work too, a twelve year old could have figured out what needed to be done. If you're interested let me know, I'll be glad to explain in further detail.
