Two Blown Transfer Cases

I have an E450 motorhome converted to 4 wheel drive by Salem Kroger. I have blown two transfer cases in 3000 miles. Transfer case lever gets extremely hot, as does the floor of the van. My guess is the front drive shaft is not disengaging. The front hubs are unlocked and the front shaft spins free when unbolted from the transfer case. Any ideas as to the cause? Salem Kroger is stumped at this point, and the rig has been down all but 5 days of the 45 I have owned it.

Thanks,

Re: Two Blown Transfer Cases

transfer case shouldnt get hot unless no oil--or pulling a freight train--but since you put in second one--was the second new or rebuilt---the only reason for excess heat otherwise is if the internal oil pump wasnt working----------------and as heavy as that rig is--id use synthetic in the case--- front hubs unlocked--and shaft spins--means the front end is ok--but is the transfer case still locked in spite of being in 2wd??? you dont have it in 4x4 on the pavement do you----
