up-date on major upgrade

about 2 mos ageo i posted our plans....well we will get the van back next week...hopefully..we installed class 5 hybreds and an h2e turbo...piller gagues and a 4 inch exhaust....and we have solved the air cooler problem...we have the room for the ducting to and from the turbo...but no room for the cooler itself.....but wait we have a plan for that as well...we are going to replace the grill with a custom made cooler in the shape of the grill now i just gotta find someone to fab it...when were done we will post pics....

Re: up-date on major upgrade

The H2e will fit no problem. Are you running a second oil pump to feed the Hybrids? The intercooler issue can be solved by removing the front battery to the frame. An air water exchange unit will fit in that space. I like the idea of removing the grill. What size tubing are you running for the CAC? If you haven't already you are going to have to deal with the intake problems associated with the amount of air an H2E type turbo will require? Please post back with your progress on the intercooler.

Re: up-date on major upgrade

no we're not running a second pump, with hybreds you dont need to...as far as the cac we are going to use as big ducting as possable up to 4 inch.....and possably 4 into it an 2--2 inch out back to the intake...i will keep posted and post pics when we finish.....

Re: up-date on major upgrade

if you mean the intake ,,there was enoughf room to make a tymar...basically a 4 in pipe with a filter, that the id of the filter fits on the od of the pipe ,,,its a small filter maybe 6 in around and 6 in long....

Re: up-date on major upgrade

yes...tho that looks cool...you got a wheeler too...i see...our van is an 96 e 350 4x4 extended lenghth with a 7.3...the air filter is right behind the drivers side head light..some of the ridigid ac lines had to be cut and welded shortened-lenghthened-bent-re shaped......our plan is to remove the triangle shaped center section of the grill and replace it with a custom cac in that same shape...withthe same sized tube in and out....but if we run out of room we will use 2 smaller tubes for the return..instead of i big out and back we would resort to i big out and 2 smaller to return back.....

Re: up-date on major upgrade

I can't wait to see what you come up with. I ended up moving the wireing harness and the return fuel system created the other breathing room to fit a 4" intake back to turbo. I can't wait to see your CAC when you get done. Good luck. I think madvann had posted about a 1" body lift to make extra room as well.

Re: up-date on major upgrade

QSSB(everything coated), 2 620ml jets water meth, straight exhaust, 4" intake, reg return fuel system, hypermax stage 2 singles, BTS trans, trac and sway bars, tuned by DP Tuner.

This summer: fire rings so I can turn it back up all of the way. Maybe some other stuff when the engine finally comes out.
