Upgraded the BTS Tranny

This not a commercial...facts and testimonial only...I am trying to present how Brian has an ongoing perfection of his tranny work and how he "still" takes care of his customers...

History...BTS trans work was done 1-6-03 and milage was 206,000 miles
Upgrade was done 6-17-05 milage was 423,988 miles

2 year warranty is history....right?...

I stopped by to see Brian to ask him some questions and after we finished talking he asked how the tranny was doing etc...it needed a service anyway and Brian offered an "upgrade" for xxx.xx dollars and since it needed the service to be done anyway I said "sure"....since the figure he quoted me wasn't that much more than the service it was a no brainer for me...little was I to know that the upgrade would be another complete rebuild ...albert pulled the torque converter and "looks perfect" so cool beans ... no need to replace that 1,200.00 dollar converter
all internal tranny parts were clean, part #'s easily read...all looked good after 200K..pump was excellent no wear as were all components...now..
Collars were replaced because they now are billet instead of welded
Sleeves were replaced since a newer design holds the snap rings in better...etc..
My shifting program was updated to match my "new" HP
As a New Torque Converter is installed I gasped for breath, asking albert "why are you using a new converter when my old one is perfect"...he and Brian said the new one is "better"....now I am thinking that I will have to cough up 1,200 bucks more for this newer converter...didn't happen as I found out later
After the test drive...there are changes to point out Brians constant effort to improve this tranny...
engaging reverse or drive doesn't result in the "lunge" forward that the old unit had ...the park/drive and park/reverse is smooth as silk the lock up is there but the initial engage is smooth... the shifts thru the gears on acceleration are solid as before...
Better cooling has also been "built-in"...

I paid brian our "agreed" price and left with a completely rebuilt tranny with a new torque-converter...

I am amazed at how much this guy gets bashed in forums about "no customer service" etc..or not answering the phone...give me a break...I want to assure anyone with future tranny work to please call Brian and talk it over with him...and don't be surprised that you may have to call back a few times to get him...

BTW...I saw the new shop (10,000 SF+)..it is the largest building in Lead Hill, Ar.... ...awsum....the day I was there he poured concrete in the parking lot..the tranns rebuild room is like an ICU hospital unit..

I am sure other trans =rebuilders" offer a similar product but all I want to pass along is how I was treated and let as many of you know that although these trans cost a lot to rebuild , it is worth every cent to have it done at BTS...now thats my opinion ...PM me for other details....and you newer vanners with the 5-speed have no fear, the man in lead Hill is ahead of the game ...can't offer any other info but stay tuned ...Brian will have you covered too...
FWIW...bill

Re: Upgraded the BTS Tranny

I lurked right into the van forum by way of a missed mouse click and decided to read your post... It is good to hear that Brian took care of you.

On a side note I was in your neck of the woods last year. I ran my quad in a Mid East Harescramble race out there. What a blast..!
