Van has arrived at quigley...

Well, my van made its way to quigley on June 14th. Unfortunatley the 4x4 conversion isnt scheduled until July 29th. What a disappointment, i thought it was about two weeks after quigley got the van that they started work on it. It seems it is more like 6 weeks. I spoke with Larry Yates and as usual he was a professional, he said he would do what he can but im not holding my breath. I already sold my personal truck so I have to borrow my wifes jeep (yuck) until sometime in July.

figured i would update anyone who was anticipating the van in late june early july as i was.

this doesnt leave me much time to get it beach ready since we start fishing the first weekend in Sept.

Re: Van has arrived at quigley...

How long did it take for your van to be produced? Are you into surf fishing, I used to do that years ago with my dad in Rehoboth, where do you go?

Larry will let you pick up that van in York, just a hop skip and a jump away from MD!

Re: Van has arrived at quigley...

I second that question... When did you order it? And how long to build it? If you're nearby, you'll want to pick it up yourself... check my sig.

2 months to build
2 weeks at Quigley
6 weeks to get out here in Ford shipping
4 months total

(and then most of the last year customizing, but that's my fault)

Re: Van has arrived at quigley...

I ordered the van the second week of april and it was built the last week in may. it arrived at quigley on june 14. when i ordered the van the lady at quigley told me it would be about two weeks to do the conversion after they got the van on their lot. when i spoke with larry he said they had a bunch of government vehicles they were doing, and it wouldnt be until july 29. i guess that's typical since the govt has been screwin me all these years why not now the thing that sucks is i have a couple guys lined up for early july to install some items on the van and i am going to have to cancel and try to get it all done in a couple weeks. i thought early april would have been enough time...guess not.

yes i do surf fish mainly in NC and MD beaches

You are doing better than I am, I ordered my van on 4/15/02 and it was built this week, but mine will not be a Quigley much to my chagrin.

Re: Van has arrived at quigley...

Yes, the coordination nightmares... Now you know why mine has taken so long to get this far. Already been in 4 custom shops over the last year including Quigley. #5 is coming this summer. Only put 4000 miles on it in the last year. It's all about logistics, figuring out what to do in what order, so one thing doesn't screw up the next thing...

Re: Van has arrived at quigley...

Well, larry really had me going. But he emailed me today with some pictures and an explanation that the only blue van he had on the lot had already been converted to 4X4...I guess I'll have to take it since the one I ordered was blue.

larry, you're in for it when we meet

thanks for not waiting too long to tell me since I like to plan out everything, I could have messed up my whole schedule.

thanks again larry, as I said before, you are a true professional.
