E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.
This weekend we started installing the mods on the van. It's not totally finished yet as we still have to trim out everything. There are still a few items to be installed including one more cabinet that covers the rest of the rear A/C and Heat. Also need to install the Direct TV dish.
Over all I'm pretty happy with how this has come together especially since the interior only cost about $400.00 with supplies purchased from a local lumber yard.
Hopefully finish up this weekend.

Larry, I pulled the stock seat out and realized as you said the power seat base will have to be modified to fit with flat stock. I havent gotten around to it yet. I think I am going to also need a wiring harness since the one on the seat and the one on the seat base are different, one is round the other square. I can tell you this though. a seat from a pre '01 superduty would bolt right in.
it's on the list just not very high at this point. I may also install a swivel seat in the driver side like i did in the passenger side, not sure yet.
first fish fry will hopefully be the first week of sept if the fish cooperate.

The door storage is a shelf panel mounted vertically with a piano hinge and a simple door latch to keep it upright while in travel. very easy to do. I'll post a close up picture of one side so you can see it.
The water tank has a valve on the outside and I attach a clear hose about 5' long when I get to my destination. The black tank is nice for a quick shower since it keeps the water pretty warm.

If your power seat harness is the same as mine then the one connector is for power (ground and +12V) and you will need to fuze that on a separate circuit good for between 15 and 20 amps. The seat will take less until you hit the stops and then the amps really jump.

Excellent work! I wish I has the skills to imagine stuff like this and then build it. I like the AIC mount - it seems that everyone has a different way of dealing with the AIC installation in the vans - yours looks really clean (and simple!)
I was reviewing this thread and please be careful messing with that round connector that goes into the stock seat. As I understand it, it is for the "explosive" or "compressed air" seat belt tightening mechanism on the inboard side of the seat under the cover. I would not recommend messing with it.
Sorry, forgot to mention that in my first post

thanks for all the nice comments. I am very pleased with the mods so far. this weekend we installed another cabinet in the interior to cover the driver side wheel well and rear a/c unit. also installed the surf fishing rod holders on the ceiling. just have to do a little trim work and get the front rod/cooler rack and i'm ready for the beach.
just got over 500 miles on the van and it seems as if this 2002 engine has more power than my 2000 truck that has the PPIII installed.
i'll get some pics tomorrow.
