vlave cover leak
I took my rig in to get checked because it was leaving puddles of oil in my garage and the tech said it was the valve covers leaking. I did some research on this site and found that the glow plug harnesses can leak at the o-rings and it sometimes gets misdiagnosed(sp?). I politely asked the service writer to have the tech check this while in working on the van and the owner of the dealership heard me and was quite upset. I caught the tech outside the shop and asked him to look into it and he said he would. The van went in monday and the dealer said today that it may not be done tomorrow. They had to basically disassemble the front of the engine/truck? Does this sound right to change out the valve covers, i think just the one on the left side? I am a little nervous because we are leaving on a 2000 mile trip saturday and would like to know that the van will run correctly. Also the dealer will not offer me a vehicle and tells me he does not have to provide me with one even though i have a ESP which clearly states that i will be provided with one. Does this sound right? For the record i have a 2005 van that i bought to haul my 6 kids around it and it has had many, many problems. I have put a Quigley into this rig. Is there another rig that will haul 9-12 people with 4wd that will pull a 31 foot travel trailer? If i could find one i would lemon law this thing. thanks
