E-Series VansTechnical discussion of topics related to vans powered by any of the Navistar engines. This covers a broad number of years, but there isn't enough demand to split it any further.
didn't 1 ton trucks go metric to 8 X 170mm in '99? 1 ton Vans were and still are 8 X 6.5.

I got a set from southwest, and they have a special set for the E van, the stainless steel valve stems are great they use, and the center hub covers are aluminum.
I also installed the centermatic wheel balancers and they work super.

Also f-series is hub center.
E-series is lug center.

[/ QUOTE ] The E van and the F trucks have used the hub to center the stock wheels for over 20 years on most models. I always had to pound on the back side of my front wheels to remove them on my 87 van because of the tight hub/wheel fit. The fact that they use tapered lug nuts doesn't change anything. Note also the hub and wheel borehole size has not changed on the 99-up F trucks.
Hub vs. lug centered had to do with the type of lug nuts. If you put flat lugnuts on your van, they are now hub centered. How well depends on how well the pilot fits to the hub.
Many aftermarket wheels for the 99+ pickups use cone lugnuts. They are then lug centered.
According to the specifications I have, the pilot holes are NOT the same between the 2 generations of trucks. Up to 1997 is 4.88" (123.952mm) 99+ is 125.10mm. That is certainly not a large difference but it is not insignificant.
