is there anywhere that i can buy the telescopic mirrors other than ford?? i need tow mirrors but i have not found a set that work with my van yet...so i thought the easiest way would be to install the telescopic mirrors that were special order from ford.
just looking to save a little money.

They have em all the time on eBay. Not cheap. If you have an older van, you have to have to drill one additional hole to mount them, but they are a direct bolt on.

Like he said check e-bay...the manual set is around 125 bucks ...you have to drill an extra hole but they are a bolt on...have a set on my 98 excellent for towing and also get the C-btr add on mirrors (ad on site) they are a god send and worth the money...bill
I got mine on eBay also. But, beware of the aftermarket mirrors. You can find genuine Ford mirrors for the same money. The ones I bought came from an ambulance conversion.

If you have an old van like they said you'll have to do drilling. In my instance i had to drill a few holes and make the existing ones bigger. The studs on the new mirrors are alot bigger. I like them alot though, wish i could have gotten the power mirrors though. I also want to find a way to get the mirrors from a 6L F-series on the van, the one with the LEDs on the side. Would just need to figure out how to change out the mounting pedestal part on them.
I just bought dual post towing mirrors off of ebay and want to install them on my 2000 E350. My first glance showed a little more than just drilling one hole. My factory mirrors bold to the exterior metal of the car while the tow mirrors bold to the interior metal. I hope that made sense. Also i don't believe the two middel bolts line up to any of the existing holes.
Here are some cheap electric mirrors.... ebay item

Try a search, there are some good instructions for the install from a guy in Maryland (can't remember his handle). Also, check out this thread kinda old but good info.
I did the mirror job a year or so ago, I love them. I got power mirrors for an E-450 from fordpartsonline.com, about $300 but that was before they started showing up on ebay.
